In this article we evaluate conceptually and analyze empirically the impact of our highly cited paper "False-Positive Citation". In particular, we examine which journals have cited it the most and least, how the work is cited, what decision it is used to justify etc. We also review the history behind our prior paper, and how we decided which rhetorical tools to rely on.
