A ground-breaking study by professors Mar Vila and Gerard Costa of ESADE Business School and Cathy Enz of Cornell University looked at Innovation Practices in 27 of Spain's largest hotel chains.
The study revealed that there was a general bias towards innovation and that most of the chains had R&D departments that both fostered and rewarded new ideas.
The study reveals that the world hospitality industry has a great deal to learn from major Spanish hotel chains.
This is especially true when it comes to finding innovation that lasts, is hard to copy and makes a chain singular.
